Werner Scheifele - Project Initiator, Construction
Following this degree as as Chem. Ing. HTL (1986), Werner Scheifele (1964) was
development engineer at Sika AG in Zurich (adhesives for the automobile industry).
Since 1990 he is member of the scientific research team at the electrochemistry
institute at the PSI (Paul Scherrer Institute, related to the SFIT, Swiss
federal institute of technology) in Villigen. 1994 he started his own business
(50% of work time) as engineer at the Planetarium Zurich, responsible for
projector design and construction. He started 1987 building the E-Bike
as a private project. In 1989, he participated at the Tour-De-Sol with the
E-Bike. Since then, he kept improving the E-Bike. In parallel, he started
1992 the project for a hybrid electric motorcycle under the name "HyBike".
Lukas Zeller - Electronics and Concept
After his degree as Dipl. electrical engineer ETH (SFIT) in 1990, Lukas Zeller (1966)
worked as development engineer for hardware and software at MPL AG
(industrial electronics). Since 1994, he runs his own engineering business,
partly still working at projects for MPL (among others a PCMCIA memory card
reader/writer, of which some units are used in space station MIR).
He now works in software development.
Philipp Schmid - Project Management
After his degree as Dipl. Natw. ETH (SFIT) in 1989, a 2 month in the USA, and
5 month of management trainee program at NCR Switzerland, Philipp Schmid (1964)
was responsible for the development of the departement for ecology and
enviromental technology at EWI (Elektrowatt engineering division) in Sion.
Since 1993 he is executive partner of AS Partner AG, a company which
specializes on start-up projects and developing businesses. As such, he
was also executive officer of the TZO-Technozentrum AG and the Marmotte SA in Visp.
Sandro Commisso - Design
Following his two-year studies in engineering at the Politecnico in Milano,
Sandro Commisso (1961) began studing at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milano,
where the got his degree as industrial designer in 1987. He worked then for
different Swiss design ateliers (at Baden, Lausanne and Zurich) in ca. 70
projects. Since 1991, he is owner of SACO Design AG in Visp, where he works
on projects in industrial design, architecture, room design and graphical design.
